Robot vacuums and mop are getting more efficient. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can take care of a variety of flooring. Look for models that allow you to select between several modes, utilize their charging docks to self-empty and clean up the stairs.
Many of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, set schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available on the market. It uses lidar for navigation, creating maps of floors and rooms.
The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as large rugs and a medium-pile. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them and even managed to drive across raised room thresholds with no problem, although it sometimes had trouble navigating down stairs in a single move. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it came to carpets or carpets.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and refills its water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 mopping sessions, however it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming blocked. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dust or dirt. But, overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other combinations that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option for your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that eliminates obstacles and cleans furniture. Its mopping capability is impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned and dried in the base station when needed.
This robot combination is simple to setup and use, with a simple interface that walks you through the process. It includes a rechargeable hand vacuum for those areas that the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and filled whenever required. It comes with a range of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that effortlessly picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller pieces of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also quite good, though it can get stuck on small mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Its mopping capabilities are also excellent with a pair of spinning mops which can lift and scrub the floor instead of simply moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the base station as needed. Mops can also be refilled at the top of the station if required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop were released earlier in the year. However, their latest flagship model is packed with impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is simple to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our list of the top robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It is equally effective on hard floors and carpets. It was able to clean the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently while avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping performance is augmented by a side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is nimble that can navigate tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can go from one room to another without having to change direction. This is a great feature for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large margin between obstacles. This can lead to miss-hit spots.
The app is streamlined, intuitive interface that should be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings, alter suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri and allows you to keep an eye on its progress from any location. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for real-time video supervision. But, you'll require a reliable internet connection to use it through the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
A robot vacuum does a great job of removing debris and dirt but it's not always able to get every last piece of dust. best robot hoover is why it's important to make use of your regular vacuum once every week, particularly to clean dust from corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot that was designed to do exactly that. It has a suction power of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin by hand each time. It has a smart app which allows you to schedule cleanings and determine the floor type. It also comes with an automatic water tank filling and washing system to allow hands-free operation.
Its mops also impress, with a 2700Pa capacity to take on pet hair and dirt, on both carpets and hard floors. The Q5 was among the few robots we tested did not show a problem with high-pile area carpets and rugs. However, it was able to not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't too surprising because it doesn't contain AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that allows it to reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. The K10 Plus also has the larger bin, meaning that you don't need to empty it as often. It also has washable filters that further lower the cost of using the device. The robot can recognize carpets, and boost suction if necessary. You can also mark off areas you would like the robot to avoid using the app.
